What curriculum is taught to pupils working at home?
Pupils follow the same curriculum at home as if they were in school.
The only exceptions to this might be where this is physically not possible e.g. team sports in PE or projects in DT where specific materials may not be available at home.
When will on line learning be provided for my child/ren?
When whole year groups are working from home, lessons will be delivered on line immediately. (eg closure of school due to snow)
What on-line teaching platform is used by Wigmore teachers and pupils?
At the Primary School, SeeSaw is our on-line learning platform. All pupils have been provided with an individual log in. SeeSaw can be accessed on any device e.g. laptop, ipad or mobile phone. The SeeSaw app is available for devices. SeeSaw can also be accessed through most browsers including Google Chrome. If you have any queries regarding the use of SeeSaw, please contact your class teacher via the class email or SeeSaw.
At the High School, Microsoft Teams is our on-line learning platform. All pupils have been instructed and supported in accessing and using Microsoft Teams and have ‘Team’ for each of their class groups. All pupils have log in details. Microsoft Teams can be accessed on any device e.g. laptop, ipad or mobile phone. Downloading the Microsoft Team App is the most effective way. Microsoft Teams can also be accessed through most browsers including Google Chrome. If you have any problems please send an email to [email protected] The support team will respond promptly.
How will I be informed if there are concerns about my child’s on-line learning?
All teachers expect to be in contact with your child through subject lessons. If there are any concerns, we will contact you in the usual way.
How is on-line learning contributing to the education of Wigmore pupils?
The on-line curriculum and lessons provided by our teachers are exciting, engaging and helping pupils continue to learn and make progress across their subjects. Our staff and pupils are learning new skills and discovering how technology can support outstanding teaching and high levels of learning. Pupil engagement has been excellent and parental support and feedback has been helpful.
