The skiing trip is open to pupils in Year 9 through to Year 11. The trip will allow pupils to broaden their practical skills and physical fitness, whilst enabling pupils a different cultural experience. The trip will also allow the Year 10 and Year 11 pupils who have chosen GCSE PE as an option subject to gain another practical mark towards their overall grade in preparation for their practical examination in the March of Year 11. Included in the cost of the trip, pupils can also gain skiing experience at a dry slope skiing centre in the UK to fully prepare them for the trip in February. Those pupils selecting a GCSE Language will have the opportunity to practice their vocabulary and conversational skills during travel and whilst at the resort. Those pupils participating in The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award will be able to generate hours towards completion of the award and can have their logbook signed off by members of staff accompanying the trip.
