London 2025

Year 9 Take on London – A Capital Adventure!

In the summer term of 2025, our Year 9 pupils swapped the classroom for the capital as the pastoral team led an unforgettable three-day residential to London - a trip packed with culture, adventure, and magical memories.

From the moment we arrived, the city came to life. Our journey began with a touch of wizarding wonder as we stepped out of the Muggle world and into the spellbinding Harry Potter Studios, where pupils wandered Diagon Alley, peeked inside the Hogwarts Express, and uncovered the movie magic behind the scenes.

Next, it was time to see London from new heights - quite literally! Pupils soared above the skyline on the London Eye and later climbed the winding steps of St. Paul’s Cathedral for panoramic views of the city. Amid all the excitement, we also took a meaningful moment to reflect at the moving COVID-19 Memorial Wall, honouring those affected by the pandemic.

Of course, no trip to London would be complete without its world-famous landmarks. We explored Trafalgar Square, admired the grandeur of Big Ben and the Houses of Parliament, watched the Changing of the Guard, and even caught a glimpse of Downing Street. A walk past Shakespeare’s Globe brought literature to life and gave pupils a deeper appreciation of our rich cultural heritage.

As night fell, the magic continued - this time on stage - as we were transported to the Pride Lands during a breathtaking performance of Disney’s The Lion King in the heart of the West End. The music, costumes, and storytelling left everyone in awe.

It was an action-packed, inspiring, and truly memorable three days. Pupils returned home not just with tired feet, but with broadened horizons, strengthened friendships, and stories to tell for years to come.

London 2025 was more than just a trip — it was an experience they’ll never forget.
