Year 8 Paris Trip 2025
In July 2025, our Year 8 pupils set off on an unforgettable school trip to Paris. The journey began with a poignant visit to Vimy Ridge in northern France. Walking through the preserved trenches and standing beneath the towering Canadian National Memorial gave pupils a powerful insight into the sacrifices made during the First World War. It was a moving and reflective start to our adventure.
The journey itself was filled with excitement, but nothing compared to the incredible sights and experiences awaiting us in the French capital. Upon arrival, we were based at the beautiful Château de Grande Romaine, where pupils enjoyed the spacious grounds, outdoor pool, a lively disco night, and even took part in fun crêpe-making sessions.
Our sightseeing began with a visit to the Tour Montparnasse, where we took in breathtaking views of Paris from the observation deck. The panoramic scenery gave everyone a true sense of the city’s scale and beauty. We explored the artistic treasures of the Musée d'Orsay, where pupils were captivated by the Impressionist masterpieces. Another highlight was our visit to the Stade de France, where we toured the iconic stadium, stood pitch-side like true champions and learned about its rich sporting history. A highlight for many was a relaxing boat trip down the River Seine, passing famous sights such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, the Louvre, and the Eiffel Tower.
In between activities, there was time to relax, take photos, and bond with classmates. We also stopped at a Carrefour, giving everyone the chance to shop for souvenirs and snacks to take home. The trip combined learning, fun, and friendship, and will be remembered by all as a highlight of their school year.
