Willow Class

Class Teacher: Mrs Edwards

Welcome to Willow Class! Willow Class is a happy, caring and exciting place to learn, where children are encouraged to be curious, creative and confident. We love learning together, celebrate each other's successes and always strive to do our best. Through a wide range of engaging and memorable learning experiences, we aim to inspire a love of learning and help every child achieve their full potential. English and Mathematics are taught every morning, alongside daily spelling and times tables sessions to build fluency, confidence and independence.

Our Topics This Year
Autumn 1: The Romans
Autumn 2: Rainforests
Spring 1: The Mayans
Spring 2: Where Does Our Food Come From?
Summer 1: The Mortimer Family
Summer 2: Rivers

These exciting topics will provide opportunities for children to explore the world around them, develop their curiosity and make meaningful links across their learning.

Homework Expectations
We greatly value the support children receive at home and encourage positive learning habits throughout the year. Children are expected to:

Read regularly at home and record their reading.
Practise their weekly spellings.
Complete the half-termly homework sheet.
Spend 30 minutes per week on Times Table Rock Stars.
Complete their weekly times tables sheet.

By working together, we can help children develop confidence, independence and a love of learning both in school and at home.
We are looking forward to a wonderful year filled with exciting learning opportunities, new discoveries, creativity, friendship and lots of success in Willow Class.
